Fun Family Walk for Cancer Awareness Returns to Madeira
Madeira is more than breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable holidays. It is a community that comes together when it matters most, and on 26 July it walks the Lido promenade to prove it.

Locals and visitors alike are invited to support an inspiring cause by taking part in The Shuffling Walking Team’s Fun Family Walk for Cancer Awareness.
Whether you are visiting Madeira or call the island home, this is a chance to enjoy an evening walk while making a real difference to families affected by cancer.

The walk suits all ages and fitness levels, which makes it a good fit for families, friends and visitors who want to see Madeira’s seafront promenade while supporting something worth supporting.
Conquering Cancer One Step at a Time
The event started in South Africa in 2012 and is organised by The Shuffling Walking Team, whose mission is to help conquer cancer one step at a time.
Entry is 10 euros, payable in cash or by MB Way. That includes automatic entry into the charity raffle and an evening alongside hundreds of other supporters. All funds raised go to The Shuffling Walking Team Community Cancer Fund, helping families in Madeira facing cancer.
Wear Pink, and Watch the Sun Go Down
Participants are encouraged to wear pink to raise awareness and show solidarity with everyone affected by cancer. A line of pink along the coastline sends the message better than any poster does.
The Lido promenade is one of Funchal’s most scenic waterfront walks, with open ocean views and an easy, relaxed atmosphere. Walking from the Lido to Ponta Gorda as the sun goes down makes the evening what it is.
