October's celebration of the outdoors. The Nature Festival fills a week with guided hikes, canyoning, mountain biking, trail runs and sea outings, a brilliant, low-stress way to experience Madeira's landscape with people who know it, and to reach corners of the island you might not tackle alone.
Autumn is a sweet spot here: warm sea, cooler trails, fewer crowds. The programme spreads across the island, so you can pick activities near wherever you're based, the west coast very much included.
